As part of the Athletic Strategic plan for GPS, the number one goal was establishing an enhanced and unified strength and conditioning program. A major strategy in this was to hire a Coordinator that would work with our athletes.
I am pleased to announce that this first step has been accomplished with the hiring of Rick Court (rickcourt.com) for this position. “I am very excited that we were able to bring on board someone with Rick’s experience, passion, and motivation”. “Our athletes are sure to benefit tremendously under his guidance”.
Rick resides in the area and his children all attend Greenville Public Schools. He obtained a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in Kinesiology and also played on the baseball team. His Master’s degree is from Eastern Kentucky University in Sport Administration and PE. Rick has extensive experience in working with youth and comes highly recommended, and just recently finished a sold out conditioning camp at the Lakeside Basketball facility.
Throughout his over 17 years in strength and conditioning, he has coached numerous athletes that have received many individual honors and multiple have become professional athletes. Their individual success led to those athletes being great teammates. The teams he has been associated with have always had much success from two Orange Bowls at two different schools to an NCAA Women's Basketball Sweet Sixteen, along with multiple Divisional and Conference Championships. Rick has also been a part of college football history when the 2014 Mississippi State Bulldogs went from unranked to #1 in the country in only 5 weeks. Rick was the Assistant Athletic Director for Football Sports Performance at Maryland from 2016-2018, helping take them to the 2016 Quick Lane Bowl.
He has also been a sought after speaker and has spoken at numerous clinics and conferences over his career including multiple Hammer Strength Clinics, PLAE Performance Labs and Smarter Team Training clinics.
