The Jackets won game 1 of the doubleheader 9-3 behind another strong pitching effort by Drew Averill (2-0). Drew went 3 2/3 innings to get the win. He struck out 3 and walked none. Drew did not give up a run while only allowing 3 hits. Asa Vanhoose and Cole Rademacher combined to pitch the last 2 1/3 innings to seal the win. The Jackets were led offensively by Zane Bigelow who went 3-3 with 3 singles, 3 RBIs and 1 stolen base. Six different Jackets each got one hit and the team combined for 11 stolen bases in the game.
