Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets Win In Fashion, Walk It Off Versus Central Montcalm

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets took Friday's game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Central Montcalm at Greenville High School. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the seventh when Aubrie Uebele singled, scoring one run.

Alexa Hyler collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Hyler tripled in the second inning, tripled in the first inning, tripled in the fifth inning, and tripled in the seventh inning.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Drew Galey grounded out, and Uebele doubled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

A triple by Hyler extended the Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets lead to 3-0 in the bottom of the second inning.

Central Montcalm tied the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a fielder's choice by Hirkaway, and an error.

In the top of the fifth, Central Montcalm broke up the tie when an error scored one run. Then a single by Ward followed to extend the lead to 5-3.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets captured the lead, 7-6, in the bottom of the seventh after Central Montcalm committed an error, and Uebele singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Emily Rice earned the win for Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets. The righty gave up eight hits and six runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking three. Ward took the loss for Central Montcalm. The hurler went six innings, allowing seven runs (five earned) on 11 hits, striking out five and walking two.
