Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets Stymied By Coopersville

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets couldn't keep up with Coopersville and fell 12-3 on Tuesday.
Coopersville got on the board in the top of the first inning after Sam Lemieux singled, Ella Showers scored after tagging up, and Brooklyn Dobberstein singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Coopersville added to their early lead in the top of the second inning when Showers doubled, scoring two runs, Erica Velzen scored after tagging up, and Dobberstein singled, scoring one run.
Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets made the score 7-3 in the bottom of the third inning when Cam Klco hit a solo home run to center field, and Brooke Lindquist singled, scoring one run.
Lemieux earned the win for Coopersville. The hurler surrendered three hits and zero runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking two. Klco took the loss for Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets. The hurler went six innings, giving up 12 runs (11 earned) on 12 hits, striking out eight and walking 10. Seifferlein started in the circle for Coopersville. The starting pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs (two earned) over two and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one.
