Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets easily dispatched Ionia Varsity Bulldogs on Saturday, 17-2.

A home run by Alexa Hyler put Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets on the board in the top of the first.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets scored five runs on six hits in the top of the second inning. Jenna Jenks doubled, scoring one run, Aubrie Uebele singled, scoring one run, Emily Rice doubled, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. Kelsey Barczak scored after tagging up, Hyler singled, scoring one run, Brooke Lindquist tripled, scoring two runs, and a passed ball scored one run.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets scored five runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Uebele singled, scoring one run, an error scored one run, an error scored two runs, and Rachelle Sherwood singled, scoring one run.

Jenks earned the win for Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets. The starter allowed two hits and two runs (zero earned) over four innings, striking out two and walking two. Ava Bowen took the loss for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs. The hurler went one inning, allowing five runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out none and walking none.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets piled up 15 hits in the game. Rice, Hyler, Drew Galey, Barczak, Uebele, and Lindquist each collected two hits for Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets. Hyler and Uebele each drove in three runs for Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets. Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.

Lauryn Schmid and Liberty Stanard were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs. Bowen and Kaylee Schmid each collected one hit for Ionia Varsity Bulldogs.

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets welcome Kenowa Hills on Tuesday for their next game.
