Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets Fall After Strong Showing By Clare Varsity Pioneers

Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets had trouble keeping up with Clare Varsity Pioneers in a 17-3 loss on Saturday at Clare High School.
Greenville Varsity Yellow Jackets got on the board in the first inning after Alexa Hyler singled, scoring one run.
Clare Varsity Pioneers made the score 4-1 in the bottom of the first after Tessa Kelly singled, scoring one run, Morgan Campbell doubled, scoring one run, and Breez Yarger singled, scoring two runs.
A double by Addison McMillan, a single by Kelly, and a double by Campbell helped Clare Varsity Pioneers extend their early lead in the second.
Clare Varsity Pioneers added to their early lead in the bottom of the third inning after Alissa Brandon doubled down the left field line, McMillan singled, and Madison Jones singled to right field, each scoring one run.
Clare Varsity Pioneers scored six runs on six hits in the bottom of the fourth inning. Pamela Allen singled, scoring two runs, Brandon doubled, scoring one run, McMillan hit an inside the park home run, scoring two runs, and Kelly hit a solo home run to right field.
