The Jackets competed in the Alma tournament on Saturday and while it wasn't our best performance, we still managed to make it to the semi-finals of the Gold bracket. There were 12 teams competing in the tournament and we tied for 3rd place with Portland. In pool play, we came out first in our pool by beating Chesaning (25-11, 25-19) and splitting with Alma (22-25, 25-16) and Shepherd (25-13, 16-25). However, this placed us 4th overall in the tournament and Shepherd was 5th. Therefore, in the first round of bracket play, we had to play Shepherd again which we won 25-23 and 25-20. Then in the semi-finals, we were outmatched by Cadillac and lost 16-25 and 15-25. We start conference play this week and we are looking forward to better performances. Our current record is 10-7-3.
