The Greenville JV participated in the Ionia Invitational today and we had our ups and downs, but overall we played pretty well. In our first match of pool play, we played Portland and it wasn't our best outing. In the first set, we lost 8-25. Then in the second set, we played better, but still lost 21-25. Then in the next two matches we played much better. We beat Carson City (25-14, 25-16) and Pewamo-Westphalia (25-20, 25-16). This put us 2nd in our pool and we went in to bracket play against the 3rd place team from the other pool, Belding. In the first set, we won 25-17 and then in the second set, it was a nail biter but we won 25-23. Then in the semi-final, we faced the first place team from the other pool, Mt. Pleasant. We played pretty well, but we lost in 2 sets (17-25, 17-25).
