Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball vs. Lakewood HS School

On Saturday, the Greenville JV volleyball team started their season off with a great showing in the Lakewood tournament. We were 1st in our pool beating Kenowa Hills (12-25, 25-22, 25-15) and Ionia (13-25, 25-14, 25-20). This put us in the Gold Bracket, where we faced Schoolcraft and beat them in 2 sets (25-14, 25-22). In the semi-finals, we faced Laingsburg and beat them in 2 sets (25-18, 25-20). This set us up in the Finals with Caledonia. It was a great match with both teams battling back and forth throughout. We went 3 sets with Caledonia, losing the 1st set 21-25 and then winning the 2nd set 25-14. This left us in a battle for the 3rd set and the championship, but unfortunately we came up short losing 9-15. It was a long day, but the girls played really well and showed potential for a bright season if they continue to play as a team and work hard.
