The GHS Boys Cross Country team competed in one of the toughest MHSAA D1 Regionals at Allendale HS on Saturday. The Jackets finished 9th overall with Grand Haven taking the Regional title. Individual Meet winner was Evan Hodson of Muskegon Reeths-Puffer with a winning time of 16:03.
GHS was led by Sophomore Titus Bretzke with a 39th place finish and a career PR of 17:38. He was supported by Senior Ian Lee 45th at 17:50, Junior Micah Bouman 50th at 17:56, Sophomore Aaron Amidon 54th at 18:02 and rounding out the top scoring five was Sophomore Gavin Dykstra 59th at 18:23. Also finishing for the Jackets were Senior Matt Jeffrey 65th at 18:54 and Junior Derik Holmberg 78th at 19:45.
Bretzke, Lee, Amidon and Dykstra all set seasonal PRs in this last race of the 2018 season.
